Why 300Paychecks?

There are two things you may pick up immediately from the name of my site. The first being that I spelt Paychecks in American English. I’ll figure out how to change it one day as I have zero American in me. The second may be that 300 paychecks represents 25 years of work with monthly remuneration.

In my case 300 paychecks is the period between age 35 and age 60 which is retirement age in South Africa where I currently live. I am not exactly 35, I am slightly older but how catchy would 276Paychecks really be?

My goal with this blog is to document my observations as I try and maximise the next 20 something years of my working life. I am hoping some of the characters and situations you encounter along my journey will make you laugh and also make you think. I hoping it will inspire some 30 somethings to see humour and beauty in life’s ordinary interactions. But also am hoping some of my insights will resonate with you and make you want to make the most of your last 300Paychecks.

For those of you wondering who I am I must let you know that I am Zimbabwean raised, residing in South Africa, married with children and working for a large corporate. The rest you can figure out through my posts.

I welcome your feedback so please feel free to comment or get in touch with me if anything you see makes you feel “some type of way”. Type, see what I did there?
